UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals Nightly Results for #11 Team
(July 15, 2017) The 2017 edition of the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals wrapped up tonight at Oakshade Raceway in Wauseon, Ohio with the annual 'Birthday Race,' which boasted a $10,000 payday. Gordy Gundaker timed in seventeenth quickest in Group A during qualifying before running fifth in his heat race and fourth in the B-Main. After utilizing a series provisional to gain access into the 60-lap headliner, Gordy was able to pick off five racecars in the "Hell Tour" finale to salvage a sixteenth place performance. He officially placed third in the final series point standings of the month-long tour behind only Champion Bobby Pierce and runner-up Billy Moyer, Jr.!

(July 14, 2017) Up next for the #11 team was the penultimate race of the "Hell Tour," which was held earlier this evening at Oakshade Raceway in Wauseon, Ohio. Gordy Gundaker laid down the twelfth fastest time in Group A during the qualifying session prior to running fourth in his loaded heat race. Following a ninth place effort in the B-Main, Gordy took use of a series provisional to gain access into the $5,000 to win main event. During the course of the 40-lap affair, the St. Charles, Missouri native drove past a handful of competitors on his way to a sixteenth place showing.

(July 13, 2017) The third-to-last event of the 2017 UMP Summer Nationals tour took place earlier this evening at Merritt Speedway in Lake City, Michigan. The 29th annual running of the 'Wood Tic' weekend at Merritt started tonight with a $5,000 to win program. Gordy Gundaker timed in fourth quickest in Group A during the qualifying session and later placed second in heat race action. Gordy then rolled off from the outside of the third row in the 40-lap feature, but slipped back two spots and crossed underneath the checkers in the eighth position.

(July 12, 2017) Tonight's $5,000 to win "Hell Tour" battle scheduled for Thunderbird Raceway in Muskegon, Michigan was unfortunately washed out by inclement weather. Next up will be a visit to Merritt Speedway in Lake City, Michigan tomorrow evening, July 13!

(July 11, 2017) The final week of the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour started tonight at Hartford Speedway in Hartford, Michigan with a $5,000 to win showdown. Gordy Gundaker stopped the clock second fastest in his group during time trials before running second in his heat race. After starting the 40-lap main event from the outside of the second row, a wrong tire combination caused Gordy to slip back through the top ten - eventually finishing the distance in the tenth spot.

(July 9, 2017) The 21st round of "Hell Tour" action took place earlier tonight at Kickapoo Speedway in Danville, Illinois and a $5,000 top prize was on the line for the UMP Summer Nationals competitors. On a rough racing surface, Gordy Gundaker laid down the fastest lap in his group during time trials prior to picking up the win in his stacked heat race. After drawing the third starting spot before the drop of the green flag in the 40-lap main event, Gordy hung around the front throughout the attrition-filled race before knocking down an impressive runner-up effort behind only victor Jason Feger!!!

(July 8, 2017) Tonight's UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals stop was at Highland Speedway in Highland, Illinois for another $10,000 to win tilt. Gordy Gundaker qualified second fastest in Group B during time trials and later placed second in heat race action. The St. Charles, Missouri ace then drove past a couple of racecars during the 50-lap finale to cross underneath the checkers fourth behind only winner Bobby Pierce, Timothy Culp, and Chad Zobrist!

(July 7, 2017) Next up on the "Hell Tour" was a visit to Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois tonight for a $10,000 to win throwdown. Gordy Gundaker timed in fifth quickest in Group A during qualifying prior to grabbing the third transfer spot through his stacked heat race. With passing at a premium throughout the 50-lapper, Gordy was running in the twelfth position until a right rear blowout caused him to eventually wind up fifteenth in the final finishing order.

(July 6, 2017) The 37th edition of the 'Herald & Review 100' took center stage for the UMP Summer Nationals tonight at the 1/5-mile Macon Speedway in Macon, Illinois and a $5,000 winner's check was up for grabs. Gordy Gundaker laid down the third fastest time in Group A during the qualifying session and later scored a very impressive heat race triumph. After starting the 100-lap grind from the outside of the front row, Gordy led the first two circuits of the race before sliding back in the top ten. Next up will be the annual 'Herald & Review 100' on July 6 at the mighty Macon Speedway in Macon, Illinois!

(July 4, 2017) Independence Day took the #11 GGR team to Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, Illinois tonight, as a $10,000 top prize was on the line for the cars and stars of the "Hell Tour." Gordy Gundaker timed in seventh fastest in Group A during the qualifying session prior to finishing fifth in his heat race and third in his B-Main. After receiving a provisional and starting the 50-lap finale from the inside of the eleventh row, Gordy blasted past sixteen competitors during the 4th of July special to bag a fifth place performance behind only victor Brandon Sheppard, Shannon Babb, Bobby Pierce, and Chub Frank!

(July 3, 2017) GGR Motorsports followed the UMP Summer Nationals tour to Quincy Raceway in Quincy, Illinois tonight for a $5,000 to win program. Gordy Gundaker laid down the seventh fastest time in Group A during qualifying and later placed third in heat race action. The St. Charles, Missouri ace then picked off five competitors during the 40-lapper on his way to a strong fourth place effort behind only race winner Brandon Sheppard, Shannon Babb, and Bobby Pierce!

(July 2, 2017) The 2017 edition of the "Hell Tour" soldiered on tonight with a visit to Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, Illinois, as the #11 team vied for a $5,000 payday in the Land of Lincoln. Gordy Gundaker timed in seventh quickest in his group during qualifying prior to finishing seventh in his loaded heat race. After grabbing the second transfer spot through the B-Main, Gordy climbed up to fourteenth in the final rundown of the 40-lap feature event.

(June 30, 2017) The $10,000 to win showdown between the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series versus the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals scheduled for tonight at Terre Haute Action Track in Terre Haute, Indiana has been canceled due to a heavy afternoon storm paired with persistent rain throughout the rest of the day. (June 27, 2017) A four-and-a-half hour drive greeted the #11 team today to make it to Charleston Speedway in Charleston, Illinois in time for tonight's $5,000 to win UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals spectacular. Gordy Gundaker knocked down the fourth quickest time in his group during qualifying and later ran third in heat race action. "The G Man" then started the 40-lapper from the inside of the fifth row before claiming a respectable tenth place showing in the caution-free affair.

(June 26, 2017) The cars and stars of the "Hell Tour" made their way south to Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, Tennessee tonight for another round of UMP Summer Nationals competition, which carried a $5,000 winner's share. Gordy Gundaker clicked off the second fastest lap in his group during the qualifying session prior to scoring an impressive heat race triumph. Gordy then started third on the grid in the 40-lap main event and was running solidly inside of the top five when he was sent to the rear for tapping Tanner English, which turned him around. After utilizing a series provisional and drawing an early caution in the 50-lap headliner, Gordy was eventually paid for twelfth at the finish of the main event.

(June 23, 2017) Another day, another "Hell Tour" stop for the #11 team, as they rolled into Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois today for a $10,000 to win UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals show. Gordy Gundaker experienced more motor woes during hot laps and was forced to change powerplants during the course of the evening. After borrowing a back-up car to start the B-Main, Gordy received a provisional and rolled off from the outside of the tenth row in the 40-lap headliner. "The G Man" eventually brought home a sixteenth place effort at the St. Louis-area venue, which is promoted by his parents Kevin and Tammy Gundaker.

(June 22, 2017) The GGR Motorsports team was in the pit area tonight at Spoon River Speedway in Banner, Illinois for a UMP Summer Nationals program, which boasted a $5,000 winner's check. Gordy Gundaker posted the fifth fastest lap in his group during qualifying prior to grabbing the fourth transfer spot through his heat race. Motor issues during the 40-lapper would unfortunately sideline the St. Charles, Missouri native and relegated him to a disappointing eighteenth place showing.

(June 21, 2017) Afternoon rain showers have cancelled tonight's UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals showdown at Farley Speedway in Farley, Iowa. There will be no makeup date for the $10,000 to win event and the "Hell Tour" will now move on to Spoon River Speedway in Banner, Illinois on Thursday, June 22.

(June 20, 2017) Following a rare day off, the #11 team was back on the road with the UMP Summer Nationals tour tonight in another $5,000 to win battle at Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Illinois. Gordy Gundaker stopped the clock fourth fastest in his group during time trials and later placed third in heat race action. After starting the 40-lap feature event from the outside of the fourth row, Gordy hung around the top ten throughout the distance before recording a solid ninth place performance.

(June 18, 2017) The first week of the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals wrapped up tonight with a $5,000 to win throwdown at Daugherty Speedway in Boswell, Indiana. "The G Man" Gordy Gundaker clicked off the third fastest lap in his group during qualifying prior to placing second in his heat race. Gordy was then running strong in the sixth position during the 30-lapper before motor issues dropped the St. Charles, Missouri youngster to seventeenth in the final finishing order.

(June 17, 2017) The fourth leg of the "Hell Tour" grind took the #11 GGR team to Peoria Speedway in Peoria, Illinois tonight. Gordy Gundaker ran seventh in his heat race and tenth in the B-Main, but later utilized a provisional to gain access into the 60-lap main event. Gordy was then in the seventeenth position after twenty circuits when heavy rain showers invaded the area. The event - which was downgraded to $5,000 to win - has since been deemed official and Gordy was credited with a seventeenth place effort.

(June 16, 2017) The grueling UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour made their first-ever stop at Sycamore Speedway in Maple Park, Illinois tonight and 38 competitors showed up to vie for the $7,500 payday. Gordy Gundaker clicked off the third quickest lap in Group B during the time trial session and later grabbed the third transfer spot through his heat race. After rolling off from the inside of the sixth row in the 40-lap main event, Gordy moved forward throughout the race and eventually landed in the seventh finishing position.

(June 15, 2017) Round two of the "Hell Tour" ventured north to Kankakee County Speedway in Kankakee, Illinois tonight for another $5,000 to win throwdown. Gordy Gundaker stopped the clock fourth fastest in his group during qualifying before storming to the front to grab an impressive heat race triumph. Gordy then rolled off from the pole position in the 40-lap headliner and ran second early in the distance before power steering woes eventually caused the St. Charles, Missouri native to slip back to fourth at the checkered flag behind only victor Bobby Pierce, Cody Mahoney, and Shannon Babb!

(June 14, 2017) The 2017 edition of the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals kicked off tonight at the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana. A $5,000 winner's check was on the line at the 1/4-mile, semi-banked oval in the annual running of the 'Hoosier Dirt Classic.' Gordy Gundaker - in his first-ever visit to Brownstown - timed in third quickest in his group during qualifying prior to running third in his loaded heat race. After starting the 40-lapper from the inside of the sixth row, Gordy drove up inside of the top ten before getting shuffled back when the track took rubber - eventually landing in the thirteenth position in the '17 opener.

At both Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois on Friday and Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri on Saturday, Gordy Gundaker posted the same exact finishes in preliminary action and the weekly feature events. At both facilities, Gordy timed in third quickest in his group during qualifying, won both the heat race and the dash, and finished second in the $1,200 to win A-Main behind only victor Michael Kloos. On Friday night at Granite City, Gordy earned Fast Time honors during qualifying, won his heat race, ran second in the fast dash, and later placed third in the A-Main behind only winner Michael Kloos and runner-up Rusty Griffaw. At Pevely on Saturday evening, Gordy once again won his heat race, finished second in the dash, and led one lap of the feature before settling for an impressive runner-up showing behind only victor Michael Kloos. (May 29, 2017) The GGR Motorsports team invaded Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois and Quincy Raceway in Quincy, Illinois over the May 26-28 weekend for a pair of $1,200 to win Super Late Model showdowns. On Friday night at Granite City, Gordy Gundaker finished second in his heat race, third in the fast dash, and fourth in the A-Main behind only victor Michael Kloos, Rickey Frankel, and Kolby Vandenbergh. At Quincy on Sunday evening, Gordy stopped the clock third quickest during qualifying, won his heat race, and later placed a strong runner-up in the headliner behind only race winner Rickey Frankel. Gundaker Leads Majority of Pevely Feature; Finishes on Podium!
(May 14, 2017) After unfortunately missing out on feature events on Thursday and Friday during the 'Farmer City 74' program at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois, the #11 team rebounded in a strong way on Saturday night, May 13 at Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri! Gordy Gundaker stopped the clock third quickest in his group during qualifying prior to running second in both his heat race and the fast dash. After starting the 25-lap weekly Super Late Model feature from the outside of the front row, Gordy led the majority of the race and had his sights firmly set on the $1,200 winner's check. Unfortunately, lapped traffic was not kind to the St. Charles, Missouri native and he eventually slipped back to third at the finish behind only victor Rusty Griffaw and runner-up Jeff Herzog. (May 8, 2017) Following an unfruitful trip to Lee County (IA) Speedway and a pair of rain-outs earlier in the long, extended weekend, Gordy Gundaker and his #11 team celebrated in victory lane for the first time in 2017 on Sunday evening, May 7 at Quincy Raceway in Quincy, Illinois! Gordy timed in third quickest in Midwest Big 10 Series qualifying prior to scoring the victory in his heat race. After starting the annual 'Scottie 43' headliner from the outside of the front row, Gordy drove to the point around lap fifteen and held the lead throughout the remainder of the 43-lap affair. At the checkers, the St. Charles, Missouri ace bagged the $2,000 triumph over Michael Kloos, Rickey Frankel, Denny Woodworth, and Jamie Wilson!
